Enuma Elish? What's Up With This Creation Story?

Enuma Elish is an ancient Babylonian creation story that explains the creation of humanity and the world we live in today. Like many of you who actually read Enuma Elish, it was a difficult challenge to read and analyze, assuming you're like me with my reading level. If that's the case, please don't be ashamed for using some type of outside source to understand this crazy myth. Lets be honest, those seven tablets didn't fair so well as time passed over the centuries since much of the text is missing. Like many stories of Gods in each type of civilization, they tend to have some form of immoral behavior and in Enuma Elish, it would be war or killing in this matter. Since humanity was created from the blood of the rebellious god Kingu so we would be the slaves of gods. Wouldn't that make us in some way as demigods as the Greeks put it? For me I don't think that god(s) would create us as slaves. I feel like the Babylonian tale is miss understood in a way since again much of the text is missing from the tablets and that we missed out on some of the life greatest secrets. Some shows like Ancient Aliens on the History Channel explain the possibility that ancient cultures experienced extraterrestrial activities which would have explained human and God relationships, and how impossible structures like the Egyptian Pyramids where constructed. So it might be possible that the Babylonian myth is an actual creation story of how aliens created humans. Something to think about?

Comparison of Evolution and Genesis 1

As I read through the reading assignments that were required for use to do for Workshop 2, I came upon Genesis 1. I've never truly read the Bible, or been religiously active in my life, but I've always had a spiritual side and a scientific explanation side. When I was in the 8th grade, I had a physical science teacher who was a devoted christian and went to church just about every Sunday. However, he also told use if God created the world and humans, then he would have created the concept of evolution and science so the world itself could work. It was something that I took to heart and his statement fascinates me to the day. Upon reading Genesis 1, I finally see what he meant by what he said and when you look at it, even though it states that God creates the universe (1) and all life on earth itself (2-31) in just seven days, the story represents the Big Bang and evolution almost in chronological order. Even though, seven days seems like a short time to make something so large and vast, it might be possible that those seven days could have been a representation of the millions of years of creation.

Regardless of the time it took, those seven days for me prove the Big Bang and evolution actually did happen and they were a creation of God. I still stand on my spiritual and scientific morals, especially since the Bible opens new meanings and questions to life itself.
